Deworming yourself?
Does anyone here regularly deworm themselves? Apparently a couple generations ago it was common practice to deworm yourself and your children once per year.
I'm thinking about trying a herbal dewormer. The best two I've been able to find information about online are: Barefoot Herbalist - Herbal Dewormer http://barefootherbalistmh.com/store...od&productId=2 INGREDIENTS: Male bud, immature green hull & young twig of the black walnut tree, Olive tree leaf/rt. bark, Clove, Pumpkin seed, Wormwood, Raw Vinegar, Glycerin/Sorghum Alcohol, & wild oregano oil. He has his own forum on Curezone.com: http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=626 The other is: Humaworm http://www.humaworm.com/ Ingredients: Black Walnut 200mg Wormwood 100mg Cloves 100mg Thyme 100mg Garlic 200mg Fennel 100mg Cayenne 100mg Ginger 100mg Gentian 100mg Hyssop 100mg Milk Thistle 100mg Marshmallow root 100mg Pau D' Arco 200mg Burdock 100mg Elecampane 100mg Fenugreek 100mg Licorice 100mg Barberry 200mg Cascara Sagrada 25mg Senna 25mg Sage 100mg Psyllium 200mg Yellow Dock 100mg Cramp Bark 100mg Peppermint 200mg |

Re: Deworming yourself?
Too bad there's no (known) herbal de-wormer (anthelmintic) to eliminate PACs and corrupt politicians from positions of leadership.
Back on topic: pumpkin seeds are a good option for routine maintenace... btw, if the area around your neather region itches it's an indication that you have un-invited guests. |

Re: Deworming yourself?
I've taken an herbal dewormer similar to the one you posted.
Some very disturbing stuff came out of me. But truthfully, I didn't feel any different afterward and I've never been convinced it was 'healthy' or beneficial. It seems to me that a person's everyday diet determines their health much more than any pill, powder, or cleanse ever will. And even without these measures, a body will cleanse itself and heal with proper nutrition. It was kinda interesting to see strange sea creature looking things in my toilet though. |
Re: Deworming yourself?
I've used Dr. Schulze's herbal formulas "Intestinal Formula # 1" (if you are at all constipated you use this to get good regular BMs prior to deworming/detoxifying) and "Intestinal Formula #2" (which contains, among other ingredients, pharmaceutical grade bentonite clay).
Information about them can be found at here. Of course my situation is a bit different than most since I only started using these supplements after I had undergone chemo/radiation therapy for colorectal cancer, so I can't say I've had a 'normal' experience with them, but they do seem to work as advertised. I had already lost ~40 lbs and do not really have a lot of excess material left in my colon, but I wanted to do some detox to get rid of any residual chemo drugs and to help slough off any dead/dying cancer cells. Another popular product that seems to have a large number of testimonials as to its effectiveness is Colonix from here. The site also has graphic pictures of the results of using their product. Eck! Hope this helps. |

Re: Deworming yourself?
So I'm reading these Colonix testimonials and looking at the nasty photo's and I'm wondering, what the hell is this stuff?
Call me crazy but it seems to me like whatever it is they are taking is turning their normal bowel movements into rubbery shits, and they they think they're cured. Can anyone point me to anything that explains what the hell is coming out of these people? *edit* Looks like my suspicion might be confirmed? I'm surprised I found this so quickly with a google search. Quote:

Re: Deworming yourself?
Ya I looked into that Colonix stuff a while back and I came to the conclusion that the Colonix formula itself is what causes the weird bowel movements, it's not removing anything that was there before.
I'm not particularly interested in bowel cleansers, but parasite killing herbal formulas. |
Re: Deworming yourself?
Don't eat fecal matter, cook all meat, and wash your hands immediately after using the bathroom. Ta-da!! No worms!

Re: Deworming yourself?
My grandfather always gave some chewing tobacco to his horses once a year. He said it took care of any worms they had.

Re: Deworming yourself?
Windex! :signs14:
BTW, Ringworm is a dermatophytosis, a fungus of the skin, not a worm. We test several dozen stools per day for ova and parasites: we virtually never find any [worms or their eggs]. I can't get the doctors to give up their precious tests which are bankrupting us all. But when the hammer falls, and it will, the medical staff will come to me in desperation and say: "what can we do; how can we keep the hospital functioning, please tell us!" And I know what my first response will be: all Ova and Parasite tests are hereby forbidden unless approved by the Director. Problem #1 solved. Nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine to go! |
Re: Deworming yourself?
Like I said, people eat cooked meat and don't eat fecal matter. Your pets and wild animals don't follow those rules, that is why your animals can get worms.

You might call me extreme but if I had worms I'd swallow a hand grenade.

Re: Deworming yourself?
You're thinking about trying a herbal dewormer when you don't really need it? You must really have a lot of time on your hands or some really good reading material to catch up on?
You know, now that I think about it I remember a neighbor that once told me she had Giardia years ago. She went from doctor to doctor and they told her that her problems were nerves, diet, allergies, etc. Finally someone checked her for parasites and treated her properly. She told me that in a pinch taking huge doses of Pepto would work to flush them out. I wonder if this would work with worms. |
